Join our newest instructor Rita Camacho as she takes you through the basics of working with Art Clay. Metal Clay is a wondrous medium that allows the user to create metal jewelry pieces and mini sculptures, without traditional metalsmithing equipment. The clay can be rolled, molded,textured,carved and much more! You’ll learn all the basics of working with the clay fireing and finishing as you make a pair of earrings for all to envy. Class fee is $120 and includes all materials.No experience is necessary.

These rings are fun to make and look impressive when finished. The possibility of using any metals is endless - sterling, craft, base metals, colors. A crystal, natural stone, button pearl, a piece of turquoise, almost any flat bead may be used to embellish, or it may even be worn with just the mesh showing. A little experience working with wire is helpful, but a beginner could also make this ring with little difficulty. Class fee is $40 and includes all supplies.

You don’t need a fancy camera… You just need to see the light!
We’ll go over:
• how to light your work
• what kind of backgrounds work best
• how to show off the most important elements of your jewelry
• using natural light vs. flash
• plus suggestions and/or demonstrations for making your own light tent, using tripods and special camera features.Class fee is $55 Bring your camera and the manual if you have it, some of your work to practice photographing and an idea of how you want your images to ultimately look.

Join Charlotte lampwork artist Lisa Beaman as she takes you through the basics of making lampwork beads using Italian soft glass and a torch! Topics covered in the class will include: >Basic safety information and precautions >Overview of tools and equipment >Highlights of Setting up a Home Studio >Color consideration in bead design >How to pull stringers for decoration >Gravity and the basic bead creation >Other shapes and shaping techniques as time permits The beads that you make in class can be kiln-annealed and mailed to you in a few days after the class. Kits including the equipment tools used will be offered at a discounted price, so you can make beads at home. Class fee is $120 which includes all materials needed to make beads in class. This is a beginner class with no pre-requisite.

*Beginning Lampworking Now offering a "Beginning Lampwork" class taught by Charlotte lampwork artist, Lisa Beaman. Using “one of a kind” beads in your jewelry designs will set you apart from the crowd! The Beginning class will include demonstration, instruction and practice. The cost is $100, includes all the equipment, and tools. Please bring your own consumable materials such as glass and gas (also available to purchase). This class will cover shaping and decorating your beads. Techniques will include frit, dots, and color combination. The beads you make in class can be kiln-annealed and mailed to you a few days after the class. Kits including the equipment tools used will be offered at a discounted price, so you can make beads at home. Students are requested to wear cotton fabric clothes; long sleeves, old jeans, closed toe shoes, and tie back long hair. *Perquisite for this class is Introduction to Lampworking or instruction approval.
